I owe the Giraffe Lookout loyalists a word of apology for being slowing down on posting. It's been a busy few weeks with the launch of a start-up, a spill in the gulf, a guest blog post over at fosmopolitan and then college football world imploding. The bad news is that it's only going to get slower as I'm about to embark on an extended vacation (bad news for you, not for me.) When I get back in mid-July, I fully intend to keep the blog up and will continue blog with renewed vigor.

In the meantime, I wanted to post up these awesome World Cup posters that ESPN made. I posted all of them because they are all cool in their own way. You can find the original posting here.

MTV's cool if you don't watch during World Cup

It is upon us. Everyone is coming out of the woodwork to make some kind of ad revolving around the World Cup. This applies to MTV as well. They will not be airing the World Cup, by the way. I imagine they will run Jersey Shore reruns for the entire month in order to avoid expenses on any type of original programming. Which might be the network's m.o. for that time of summer anyways.

This ad is pretty decent.

Havaianas get in on World Cup action

It's not too often that you come across a Havaianas ad up here stateside. I like the brand and this ad is pretty no nonsense. This guy apparently has no real team affiliation. Or maybe he likes all the teams and can't decide what national colorway to rock. Anyways, he's got a cool collection of flip flops and a hot girlfriend.

Puma drops a World Cup viral

Not to be left behind by it's rivals, Puma dropped a World Cup viral video called "Journey to Football." It was shot in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Angola. This fits in quite well with Puma's overall soccer sponsorships strategy. Aside for it's mega sponsorship with the Italian side, Puma has engaged in sponsorship deals with African nations. This is, in large part, because Puma can't afford the roster that Adidas or Nike have. They also see some good ROI on teams like the Ivory Coast because they are underdogs and their jerseys are hip for that reason. Anyways, it's a pretty cool video.

Nike rolls out its own animated ad for the world cup

Nike shows that it can do animation as well in this spaced-out ad featuring the Brazilian kit.
